NCS is a major provider of a wide range of crane services to the Alberta Oilsands region. NCS played a key role during the Syncrude Base Plant and Aurora 2 expansions, where it provided site crane service work. NCS has also been Syncrude's primary crane service provider in the region.
Plant maintenance and shutdowns are one of the specialties of NCS; it has successfully performed these services for all of the oil sands plants in the northern Alberta region including Albian Sands, Suncor, TransAlta and Canadian Natural Resources. NCS is an active supplier of similar work in most of the other large oil and gas companies in the province, including Shell, Husky and Nova Chemical.
NCS was proud to be involved in the construction of the $550M GP3 expansion at Genesee, Alberta. This new power station, located just west of Edmonton, was the first new facility to be built since the mid 1980's. NCS managed and supplied all cranes and lift engineering to assist Canadian Hitachi and Babcock-Hitachi in the successful completion and start up of this facility.
